Offensive Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
QB Jake Marquette – Hamilton Hurricanes

Possibly his best game of the year on a historic stage as Hurricanes quarterback Jake Marquette was outstanding in his first game ever in Edmonton.  Through the air he finished 24 of 40 for 335 yards and threw three touchdowns. Then with his feet he rushed eight times and scored two more majors.  In all he accounted for five touchdowns and 361 yards.

BC Conference
WR Nathanael Anderson – Okanagan Sun

He had a pair of highlight reel touchdowns in the BC Interior rivalry game at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops.  He caught a game high six catches for 131 yards helping the Sun to their seventh win of the campaign.

Prairie Conference
QB Brad Launhardt – Edmonton Huskies

His performance can best be described as an aerial assault as he completed 17 passes for 399 yards and five touchdowns against one of the premier defences in the CJFL.  He also added six rushes for 29 yards.

Defensive Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
LB Zach Hoffner – Hamilton Hurricanes

In a wild game on Saturday night Hoffner collected eight solo tackles, had a special teams tackle and a quarterback sack in a heartbreaking loss to the Edmonton Wildcats.

BC Conference
DB Jeremie Cheng – VI Raiders

He was seemingly all over the field for the Raiders on Saturday afternoon.  He intercepted two passes and returned them 26 yards.  When he wasn’t picking off passes he collected five solo tackles and had an assisted stop.

Prairie Conference
LB Jassen Brown – Edmonton Huskies

Coming into Sunday the Huskies were preparing to face arguably the CJFL’s best passer and one of the best offences.  Brown and company were able to slow the Thunder down just enough to get the job done.  Brown was solid with eight solo tackles, had a knockdown and an interception.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
KR Issac Beek – Niagara Regional Raiders

For the first time this season a Raider is recognized with a Player of the Week award.  Kick returner Issac Beek returned four kicks for 77 yards and tallied a 31 yarder.

BC Conference
KR/PR Brycen Mayoh – VI Raiders

For the fourth time this season and second straight week Mayoh has claimed this weekly award.  As usual he was terrific returning kicks, bringing back five in total for 114 yards.

Prairie Conference
K Cole Sabourin – Edmonton Huskies

Another week and another Player of the Week award for Sabourin who has won this award now four times.  Sunday he booted one field goal 25 yards and was a perfect 8- 8 in converts.  In both the kick off and punting duties he combined for 15 kicks and an incredible 561 net yards.
