Offensive Players of the Week

PFC
RB Logan Fischer – Saskatoon Hilltops

In order to win a championship, your best players need to be your best players and Fischer was just that on Sunday for the Hilltops to win the Prairie Conference title.  He set the tone on the ground with 137 yards on 26 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns.  Coming out of the backfield he caught five passes for 38 yards and had another major.  His three touchdowns were the final three the Hilltops scored solidifying the championship.

BCFC
QB Ashton MacKinnon – Westshore Rebels

The Rebels won their first Conference title since 2003 on Saturday and their All-Star quarterback was a major reason.  MacKinnon finished 9 of 18 for 173 yards and threw three touchdown passes.  He also used his legs to the tune of 12 carries for 82 yards.

Defensive Players of the Week

PFC
LB Cody Peters – Saskatoon Hilltops

in Sunday’s final the Hilltops defence bent, but didn’t break, shutting down the Colts offence when they needed to most. Peters had an outstanding game with nine tackles, four assists and had a fumble recovery.

BCFC
LB Juslain Makambo – Westshore Rebels

The Rebels defence pitched a shutout until the nine minute mark of the third quarter in the BC Conference championship game.  Makambo played one of his best games of the season with four tackles, one assist, one knockdown and intercepted a pass.

Special Teams Players of the Week

PFC
LB Cody Peters – Saskatoon Hilltops

Not only a force on defence, but special teams as well.  He made three tackles as his group didn’t allow a return over 18 yards during the 12 Colt returns.

BCFC
R Pierre-Luc Lord – Okanagan Sun

In his final junior football game Lord gave the Sun opportunities with great field position.    His four kick-off returns gathered 90 yards as he averaged 22.5 yards each time.
