Two playoff games and three regular season finales this weekend

VI Raiders @ Westshore Rebels – Saturday October 15, 7:00pm – Westhills Stadium | WATCH HERE

For the first time since 2004 the Rebels will host a playoff game as they host their Island Rival the VI Raiders.  It’s the third playoff meeting, the Raiders winning the first two in Naniamo.   During the regular season they met twice, the Rebels winning 45-22 in Week 2, before they tied at 25 in Week 9.   With the weather expected to be wet, this game will feature a pair of BCFC All-Star running backs.

This is a potential playoff preview.  If the Colts win they will clinch first place in the PFC for the first time since 2012 and will meet the Huskies or Regina Thunder in the Prairie Conference Semi-Final.  If the Huskies win they will clinch third place and could face the Colts again in the opening round.

They meet for the 17th in playoff history and ninth time in a BC Conference Semi-Final.  The Sun have won six of the previous eight matches, but the Rams have won the last two semis in Kelowna.  Just weeks ago the Sun smashed the Rams 44-24 on the natural grass of the Apple Bowl.

They opened the season against each other, and they close the season against each other.  The Hilltops still have an opportunity to finish first in the PFC if they win and the Colts lose.  The Rifles meanwhile will miss the playoffs and players will be playing for a roster spot next season.
