Defensive Players of the Week

BCFC
LB Layne Hull – Okanagan Sun

A big reason for the Sun defensive success last weekend was linebacker Layne Hull.  He forced a fumble early in the third quarter which shifted momentum and on the very next play the offence struck for a 49 yard touchdown. He also collected three solo tackles, had an assist and a sack, but put pressure in the backfield on a consistent basis.

PFC
LB Cody Peters – Saskatoon Hilltops

It was another classic between the Hilltops and Regina Thunder on Saturday night, with the Hilltops scoring the winning touchdown with under a minute to play.  Linebacker Cody Peters led the “D” with seven solo tackles, had four assisted stops, a knockdown and intercepted a pass, returning it four yards.

Special Teams Players of the Week

BCFC
R Jordan Angove – Kamloops Broncos

The Broncos were able to keep pace with the first place Westshore Rebels last weekend thanks in large part to field position set up by the return game.  Returner Jordan Angove was outstanding compiling five punt returns for 53 yards and eight kick-off returns totaling 114 yards.

PFC
LB Oshane Samuels – Edmonton Huskies

The Huskies won their fourth of the season and special teams played a big factor.  Oshane Samuels was a key cog with three special teams tackles.
