All six teams are back in action this weekend

Following the bye week, all six teams are in action this weekend and playoff positioning is starting to become a factor.  A couple of great rivalry games will highlight Saturday followed by the nation’s top team looking to stay undefeated.

It’s the featured night game for “Football Day in Saskatchewan” as these two rivals battle for the second time in three weeks.  September 10th the Hilltops held on for a 20-18 victory.  The Thunder have lost two straight in a combined five points.

Edmonton Wildcats @ Edmonton Huskies – Saturday October 1, 7:00pm – Clarke Field – WATCH HERE

For the third time in five weeks the battle of Edmonton takes place, with the Huskies winning the first two meetings outscoring the Wildcats 109-41.  Through the first six games of the season the Huskies have scored 86 more points than the Wildcats.

Winnipeg Rifles @ Calgary Colts – Sunday October 2, 1:00pm – McMahon Stadium

It’s the lone meeting of the season between the Rifles and Colts.  The Rifles have won the last two meeting including a 40-30 victory in Winnipeg last season, This year the Rifles are in a must win situation to stay alive in the playoff hunt.  The Colts have been the class of the CJFL as the only undefeated team left and their defence has been simply awesome giving up just over 10 points a game.
