The PFC opens the 2016 season

Calgary Colts @ Edmonton Wildcats – Saturday August 13, 7:00pm – Clarke Field – WATCH HERE

Last season the Colts finished 5-3 winning three of their last four games.  They beat the Wildcats in both meetings and outscored them 58-32. The Cats are coming off a season which saw them win their first game, then go on a seven game losing streak.  They will be better in 2016 with an improved defence and a number of weapons on the offensive side.

Winnipeg Rifles @ Saskatoon Hilltops – Sunday August 14, 1:00pm – SMF Field, WATCH HERE

A rematch of last season’s Canadian Bowl quarterfinal. The Hilltops lost a number of players following their championship season last year, while the Rifles begin a new era under head coach Geordie Wilson.  In the two regular season meetings a year ago the Hilltops outscored the Rifles 115-17.  This game is the PFC Game of the Week.

Edmonton Huskies @ Regina Thunder – Sunday August 14, 1:00pm – Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field – WATCH HERE

Both teams have retooled and are expecting to be better than last year.  The Thunder finished 6-2 but for the second straight season lost a home playoff game, while the Huskies recorded just one win on the year.  This will be the only meeting of the season between these two clubs.  They met twice last season with the Thunder outscoring them 105-15.  The last time the Huskies came close to the Thunder was in 2014 when the teams played to a 27-27 tie.
