The best defensive players in the PFC

The Prairie Football Conference is pleased to announce their Defensive All-Stars for the 2015 regular season.

The Conference's best defence all season was the Saskatoon Hilltops and the All-Star voting reflected that with five players named.  The Regina Thunder have four players named to the list

Defensive All-Stars

Defensive Line:
Blake Adams – Saskatoon Hilltops (second consecutive year)  – 10 tackles, 12 assists, 2 sacks
Ryan Warner – Regina Thunder – 10 tackles, 8 assists
Blake Hermann – Saskatoon Hilltops – 15 tackles, 5 assists, 5 sacks*, 2 knockdowns
Matt Kozun – Saskatoon Hilltops (third consecutive year) – 9 tackles, 5 assists, 2.5 sacks, 2 knockdowns, 1 forced fumble

Linebackers:
Jakub Jakoubek – Calgary Colts (second consecutive year) – 31 tackles, 23 assists*, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble
Cole Benkic – Saskatoon Hilltops – 19 tackles, 13 assists, 0.5 sacks, 3 knockdowns, 2 fumble recoveries, three interceptions, one for a touchdown
Paul Toth – Regina Thunder – 18 tackles, 9 assists, 1 knockdown, 2 interceptions

Defensive Backs:
Taylor Mayer – Regina Thunder – 15 tackles, 3 assists, 5 knockdowns, 2 interceptions
Menedum Menegho – Regina Thunder -  11 tackles, 3 assists, 4 knockdowns, 2 interceptions
Dylan Neidermaier – Calgary Colts – 17 tackles, 7 assists, 1 forced fumble, 2 interceptions
Tony Savchuck – Edmonton Wildcats – 29 tackles, 4 assists, 1 sack, 2 knockdowns, 1 forced fumble, 5 interceptions
Derek Sadownick (pictured) – Saskatoon Hilltops (second consecutive year) – 14 tackles, 7 assists, 3 knockdowns, 2 interceptions

Punter:
Brad Mikoluff – Winnipeg Rifles (second consecutive year) – 68 punts*, 2,473 net yards, 36.37 net average

The PFC will continue with the major announcements as the Most Outstanding Players will be announced tomorrow (Friday) at 10:00am MST beginning on the CJFL Twitter feed @CJFLNews.  A new player will be named every 10 minutes until noon MST when the full list will be released.  The PFC Final will kick-off at 1:00pm on Sunday afternoon in Saskatoon when the Hilltops host the Calgary Colts.  The winner will host the 2015 Canadian Bowl National Championship game.
