The PFC’s Week 6 is in the books.  The Saskatoon Hilltops stay undefeated, the Calgary Colts win on a last second play and the Regina Thunder are back on the winning track with a blowout victory.

COLTS 20 - WILDCATS 18

The weekend began in Calgary with the Colts getting a last second touchdown to claim their third win with a 20-18 victory over the visiting Edmonton Wildcats.  Quarterback John Kiesman connected with Coel Bazinet for a 30 yard game winning TD pass.

Kiseman finished 15 of 27 for 264 yards and the one touchdown strike, finding seven different receivers.  He also rushed seven times for 51 yards.

Dylan Minshull carried eight times for 81 yards to led the Colts, who collected 436 yards of total offence.

Defensively the Colts were led by linebacker Jakub Jakoubek and his six tackles, three assists and one forced fumble.   Both Jayden Lawson and Owen Redlick picked off a pass.

The Colts (3-2) will host the other Edmonton team, the Huskies (1-4) on Saturday night at 7:00pm.

The Edmonton Wildcats got a single point in the fourth quarter to go up by four points, but saw their second win of the season disappear on a last second touchdown.

Quarterback Jordan Olson completed 17 of 27 passes for 183 yard and threw a touchdown pass to Luther Hakunavanhu, who had a game high six catches.

The Cats tried to use the ruo wear out the Colts defence as Bray Josue carried a game high 21 times for 135 yards.  Olson also scored a touchdown on the ground.

Linebacker Cameron Maschmeyer led the Wildcats with five tackles.  Jayden Dalke intercepted a pass and Brandon Quach and Jeremy Fagnan each recovered a fumble.  Travis Semenok collected the lone sack.

The Wildcats (1-4) will head to Winnipeg to face the Rifles (1-4) on Sunday afternoon.

HILLTOPS 49 - HUSKIES 17

The defending champs continue to roll in Week 6 as the Saskatoon Hilltops head into a bye week after a 40 point first half and a 49-17 win over the visiting Edmonton Huskies.

Quarterback Jared Andreychuck was 13 of 20 for 162 yards and threw four more touchdowns.  He and two other pivots combined to find 10 different receivers.  Tyson Sawatzky, Davis Mitchell, Evan Turkington and Colin Stumborg each caught touchdown passes.

The ground game tallied 120 yards as Des Vessey scored the lone major on the ground.

The Special Teams got into the act as well.  Returner Adam Machart returned a third quarter kick-off 94 yards for a touchdown.

The Toppers defence forced four turnovers, two on downs while Bobby Ehman jumped on a fumble and Ryan Melnyk intercepted a pass.  12 different players had a multi-tackle game.

The Hilltops (6-0) head into the bye week and will prepare to face the Edmonton Wildcats (1-4) on Sunday October 4.

Despite collecting just 20 yards less than the Hilltops, the Edmonton Huskies were never really in this game giving up 40 first half points, 28 of which in the first quarter.

Quarterback Bradley Launhardt finished 19 of 32 for 203 yards and threw a touchdown strike to Darion Grymaloski.
Jimmie Airey carried 18 times for 81 yards.

The Huskies (1-4) will play in Calgary against the Colts (3-2) on Saturday night.

THUNDER 51 - RIFLES 22

The Regina Thunder flexed their offensive muscle on Sunday, blasting the Winnipeg Rifles 51-22 behind 672 yards of total offence.  The passing game accounted for 436 of those yards.

Quarterback Jaeden Marwick was 22 of 28 for 346 yards and threw three touchdown passes.  Back-up Sawyer Buettner also threw a touchdown strike on three completions.  Their main target was Preston Bews who caught nine passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns.  Kasim Ocaya caught the other TD pass, while Thomas Bresciani hauled in a pair of passes for 114 yards.

The Thunder (4-2) will get a much needed break with a bye this coming weekend.  On Sunday October 4th they will make a trip to Calgary for a very important match-up with the Colts.

The Winnipeg Rifles were not able to muster much against the Thunder, despite playing at home.  Their offence collected 287 total yards.  They would use two quarterbacks, as Jamie Ybarra Jr was 5 of 7 for 104 yards and two touchdowns, but threw three interceptions.  Jonathan Remple was 4 of 12 for 55 yards.

Ybarra connected with Ian Lee and Macho Bockru for touchdowns.  Lee caught six passes for 134 yards.

Running back Michael Ritchott rushed seven times and scored a touchdown to open the scoring in the first quarter.
