The CJFL in conjunction with the football franchise in Quinte are pleased to announce the new brand coming to the Ontario Conference in 2026, the Quinte Riptides, formerly known as the Skyhawks.
The new ownership group of the Riptides released this letter:
Effective immediately, the CJFL team formerly known as the Quinte Skyhawks will operate under new ownership, led by current head coach and Ontario Conference Coach of the Year, Leith Fisken. This transition represents a strategic step forward for both the CJFL program and the broader Skyhawks sport community.
Founders Peter and Brenda Gabriel will continue their outstanding work through the No Limits Youth Organization, where they will focus their efforts on youth-aged Skyhawks programming and the continued development of additional community sport initiatives. Their commitment to youth development and grassroots sport remains an essential part of the region’s athletic landscape, and we are grateful for the foundation they have built.
Under new ownership, the CJFL franchise will now place its full attention on elite junior football, with a renewed emphasis on high-performance programming, athlete development, and strengthening its competitive standing within the Ontario Conference and the CJFL nationally.
To provide clarity moving forward and to avoid confusion between the No Limits Youth Organization and the CJFL program, we are also proud to announce a full rebrand of the franchise. The CJFL team will officially compete under a new identity, The Quinte Riptides.
This rebrand marks a new chapter! One defined by focus, growth, and a clear commitment to excellence at the junior level. While the name and identity evolve, our dedication to athletes, community engagement, and competitive football remains stronger than ever.
We look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks and invite our supporters to join us as we begin this exciting new era.
The Riptides have a new logo, colour scheme and will be ready to play with the Ontario Conference kicks off their schedule in the late summer.
