Playoff Players of the Week

By CJFL Media 10/21/2025, 2:00pm PDT

The best playoff performances last weekend

The CJFL in conjunction with the three Conferences is proud to announce the Players of the Week following the playoff games this past weekend.

Offensive Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
REC Cameron St. Kitts-Park – St. Clair Saints

In a game shortened because of lightning, Cameron St. Kitts-Park was electric for the Saints as they successfully defended their OFC championship.  He hauled in four passes for 132 yards, the longest going for 78 and tallied a pair of touchdown receptions.

BC Conference
QB Liam Kroeger – Okanagan Sun

Arguably he turned in his biggest game of the season to date leading the Sun to back-to-back Cullen Cup championships.  He accounted for four first half touchdowns in the ballgame, two through the air and one on the ground.  He finished the game completing 82% of his passes for 291 yards and the two majors.  With his legs he carried the ball four times for 35 yards.

Prairie Conference
RB David Collins – Saskatoon Hilltops

The Hilltops advanced to the Conference title game and used their run game to get the job done in Sunday’s semifinal.  David Collins was outstanding in the ballgame, rushing for 207 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns. His first was a 56-yard run in the first quarter to make a statement, then his second of the game came with five minutes remaining in the third quarter as he sprinted 55 yards.

Defensive Players of the Game

Ontario Conference
LB Ryan Najim – St. Clair Saints

The veteran linebacker extinguished any hopes of a Hurricane comeback as he intercepted a bobbled pass and returned it to the house for a 19-yard pick six early in the second quarter.  The pick six was only the first of his two interceptions as Najim picked off another errant pass late in the second quarter which he returned 16 yards setting up the Saints offence deep in the Hurricanes' end resulting in a touchdown that put the game out of reach.  In addition to his two interceptions, he also had one tackle for a game high 12 defensive points.

BC Conference
DL JaQuintis Summers – Okanagan Sun

When he wasn’t making a physical tackle, he was collapsing the pocket and flushing out the Rebels ball carrier as JaQuintis Summers dominated the line.  He finished with three sacks and 1.5 tackles leading the Sun defence into the National Semi-Final.

Prairie Conference
DB Nate Gallant – Saskatoon Hilltops

The Hilltops defence bent but didn’t break very often during their semi-final victory on Sunday and defensive back Nate Gallant played a major factor.  He intercepted two passes to stop Rifles’ drives and recorded 4.5 tackles in the win.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
PK Joe Newton-Grain – St. Clair Saints

In a game that the Saints dominated in all three facets, Newton-Grain held up the Saints' special teams’ end of the bargain as he was simply perfect in the kicking game.  He connected on all three of his field goal attempts with his longest coming from 43 yards out.  He was also perfect on all six of his convert attempts.  In addition, one of his kickoffs went into the end zone for a one-point rouge accounting for 16 total points.

BC Conference
KR Tristan Remus-Arevelo – Westshore Rebels

Field position in the playoffs matters and Tristan Remus-Arevelo did his part to help his club in the Cullen Cup.  He returned five kickoffs averaging 17 yards a return with his longest being 54-yards.

Prairie Conference
PK Shawn Green – Regina Thunder

Of the Thunder’s 49 points scored on Sunday, kicker Shawn Green accounted for 17 of them.  He nailed all three field goal attempts, was perfect on five converts and added three singles on booming kick offs.   He also flipped the field with five punts averaging 34.2 yards.
