The top players from the 2025 season

The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) is proud to announce the FIRST-Team All-Canadians for the 2025 season.

Offensive Line
Kaiden Kerntopf – Okanagan Sun (second consecutive season)
Caleb Barajas – Regina Thunder (second consecutive All-Canadian)
Thomas Ta’Avili – St. Clair Saints
Johnny Fazio-Raposo – St. Clair Saints
Jack Erlandson – Saskatoon Hilltops 

Receivers
Cameron St. Kitts Park – St. Clair Saints (second consecutive All-Canadian) - he led the OFC in receptions (56), receiving yards (760) and scored nine touchdowns

Marselio Mendez – St. Clair Saints - he hauled in 30 receptions for 611 yards and led the Conference with 11 touchdowns

Zion Brown – Westshore Rebels - he had a CJFL high 1039 receiving yards on 69 receptions and tied a CJFL record with 18 touchdowns

Jarome Penner – Winnipeg Rifles (pictured) - he led the Conference with 794 receiving yards on 40 receptions and tallied three touchdowns.  He averaged 19.9 yards a catch

Running Backs
Peter Boersch – Regina Thunder – he won the Conference rushing title with 1327 yards on 174 carries and four touchdowns averaging 7.4 yards a carry

David Collins – Saskatoon Hilltops – he carried the rock 126 times for 1028 yards and a Conference high 13 touchdowns, averaging 8.2 yards per carry

Quarterback
Matthew Guenette – St. Clair Saints – set a new record for completing 75.9% of his passes for a Conference high 2299 yards and set a new record with 35 touchdowns for a quarterback efficiency of 163.5%.  

Punter
Teagan Good – Quinte Skyhawks – he booted a Conference high 49 punts, averaging 34.6 yards and tallied a pair of singles

Place Kicker
Shawn Green – Regina Thunder – he led the Conference with 83 points.  He booted a Conference high 17 field goals, knocking through 81% of his kicks.

Defensive Line
Jaylin Burnett – St. Clair Saints (second consecutive season) - he had a Conference high 11 sacks to complement his 28 tackles, 18 assisted stops, forced a fumble, recovered three fumbles, one for a touchdown and made 17.5 tackles for a loss

Johnathon Stevens – Saskatoon Hilltops – (second consecutive All-Canadian) he led the Conference with three sacks, had 11 tackles, 18 assisted stops, had a knockdown, forced and recovered a fumble

JaQuintis Summers – Okanagan Sun – recorded 12 sacks, 17 tackles, 9 assists, forced a recovered a fumble 

Jarveon Williams - Okanagan Sun – he collected 11 sacks, 14 tackles, returned a fumble 55-yards for a touchdown, knocked down four passes and forced a fumble

Linebackers
Kyler Banfield – Winnipeg Rifles - led the Conference with 37 tackles and 26 assisted stops.  He added two sacks, four knockdowns, forced two fumbles, and recovered a pair

Andy Ofosuhene – Valley Huskers - he had a Conference high 47 tackles, added 14 assisted stops, 2 sack, 1 interception and 2 knockdowns

Clay Ritschard – London Beefeaters - he had 39 solo tackles, eight assisted stops, four sacks, intercepted a pass, forced a fumble and recovered two other fumbles

Defensive Backs
Raiden Mastin – Valley Huskers (second consecutive All-Canadian) - he tallied three interceptions returning one for a touchdown, two sacks, 38 tackles, five assisted stops, five knockdowns and forced a fumble

Tariq Brown – Okanagan Sun - led the Conference with seven interceptions, returning two for a touchdown, had 19 tackles, 5 assists, added a sack, 3 knockdowns, forced a fumble and recovered one

Brandon Vecchio – St. Clair Saints - he intercepted four passes and returned three of them for touchdowns, knocked down three passes and made six tackles

Cooper Filazek – Regina Thunder - he had three interceptions, six tackles, and two knockdowns

Teagan Good – Quinte Skyhawks - he had another great season intercepting three passes, blocked three kicks, forced and recovered a fumble, had 20 tackles, assisted on five others and had a knockdown

Return Specialist
Marselio Mendez – St. Clair Saints - he returned 22 kicks during the regular season and averaged 24.8 yards with each return.  He also returned two punts for touchdowns adding to his impressive stats.


 

Ontario Outstanding Player Awards

The Ontario Conference has announced their Most Outstanding Players and Coach of the Year for the 2025 season as a lead up to the Conference championship game this coming weekend between the St. Clair Saints and the Hamilton Hurricanes.

Ontario Conference Outstanding Players:

Coach of the Year – Leith Fisken – Quinte Skyhawks – in his first season as the head coach, Fisken led his team to within one win of the postseason and created a culture of positivity in Quinte.

Outstanding Offensive Lineman – Thomas Ta’Avili - St. Clair Saints  

Outstanding Defensive Lineman – Jaylin Burnett* – St. Clair Saints (second consecutive season)- he had a Conference high 11 sacks to complement his 28 tackles, 18 assisted stops, forced a fumble, recovered three fumbles, one for a touchdown and made 17.5 tackles for a loss.

Alex Stajic Memorial Special Teams – KR/P Cameron St. Kitts-Park – St. Clair Saints - he showed his versatility all year long. He not only put up big numbers as a receiver on the offensive side but made significant contributions on special teams including 20 punts averaging 33.7 yards and returned two kick offs averaging 67.5 yards a return and ran one back 106 yards for a touchdown. 

Return Specialist – Marselio Mendez – St. Clair Saints – he returned 22 kicks during the regular season and averaged 24.8 yards with each return.  He also returned two punts for touchdowns adding to his impressive stats.

Offensive Rookie of the Year – Running back – Sam Mustapha – Sault Ste. Marie Cougars – he won the Ontario Conference rushing title with 854 yards on 76 carries and scored eight touchdowns.

Defensive Rookie of the Year – Linebacker – Grant Mathewson – Sault Ste. Marie Cougars – he tallied 26 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, added 13 assisted stops, had a sack, and blocked a kick.

Co-Outstanding Defensive Players of the Year – DL – Jaylin Burnett - St. Clair Saints (second consecutive season)- he had a Conference high 11 sacks to complement his 28 tackles, 18 assisted stops, forced a fumble, recovered three fumbles, one for a touchdown and made 17.5 tackles for a loss.

AND

LB Clay Ritchard – London Beefeaters – he finished the season with 39 tackles, 8 assisted stops, had 4 sacks, recovered two fumbles, forced one and intercepted a pass

Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year – Quarterback – Matthew Guenette* - St. Clair Saints - set a new record for completing 75.9% of his passes for a Conference high 2299 yards and set a record with 35 touchdowns for a quarterback efficiency of 163.5% on 145 completions.

Bill Prest Community Service Award – Cedric Abu-Zahra – Ottawa Sooners

This Saturday the #1 seeded St. Clair Saints host the #3 seeded Hamilton Hurricanes for the Teddy Morris championship game and the right to advance to the CJFL National Semi-Final game held in the BC Conference on Saturday October 25, 2025.

Ontario Conference All-Stars

The Canadian Junior Football League in conjunction with the Ontario Conference are proud to announce the 2025 Conference All-Stars.

There are nine positional categories, and the St. Clair Saints lead the Conference with 10 All-Stars.

The 2025 Ontario Conference All-Stars are:

Offensive Line:

Ameen Fattali – London Beefeaters (second consecutive season)
Thomas Ta’avili – St. Clair Saints
Johnny Raposo – St. Clair Saints 
Williams Brine – Sault Ste. Marie Cougars 
Zephi Brooks – Hamilton Hurricanes 

Running Backs:

MJ Doyle-Marshall – St. Clair Saints (third consecutive season) – he rushed 82 times for 640 yards and scored nine touchdowns 

Sam Mustapha – Sault Ste. Marie Cougars – he won the Conference rushing title with 854 yards on 76 carries and scored eight touchdowns.

Receivers:

Cameron St. Kitts-Park (pictured) – St. Clair Saints (second consecutive season) – he led the OFC in receptions (56), receiving yards (760) and scored nine touchdowns

Jaidan Trudeau – Sault Ste. Marie Cougars – he caught 31 passes for 411 yards and scored two touchdowns

Devin Quammie – Hamilton Hurricanes – he racked up 468 yards on 22 receptions and had four touchdowns

Quarterback:

Matthew Guenette* (pictured) – St. Clair Saints – set a new record for completing 75.9% of his passes for a Conference high 2299 yards and set a new record with 35 touchdowns for a quarterback efficiency of 163.5%.  

Place Kicker:

Gabriel Canabrava – Hamilton Hurricanes – he booted nine field goals this season with his longest from 43 yards away.  He recorded a total of 65 points for the playoff bound Hurricanes

Defensive Line:

Jaylin Burnett* – St. Clair Saints (second consecutive season) – he had a Conference high 11 sacks to complement his 28 tackles, 18 assisted stops, forced a fumble, recovered three fumbles, one for a touchdown and made 17.5 tackles for a loss

Noah Williams – London Beefeaters (second consecutive season) – he made 12 tackles, had two assisted stops, three sacks and stripped a fumble 

Chris Rivero – St. Clair Saints – he tallied seven sacks, had 16 solo tackles, 10.5 for a loss, and had 16 assisted stops

George Limb – Sault Ste. Marie Cougars – he collected 12 solo tackles, had four tackles for a loss, assisted on 14 other stops and forced a fumble

Linebackers:

Mo Ibraheem – St. Clair Saints (third consecutive season) – he had 12 tackles, 3.5 for a loss, assisted on 11 other tackles, had a sack and intercepted a pass, returning in 33 yards for a touchdown

Clay Ritschard – London Beefeaters – he had 39 solo tackles, eight assisted stops, four sacks, intercepted a pass, forced a fumble and recovered two other fumbles

Ben Herder – Quinte Skyhawks – he had a Conference high 55 tackles, assisted on 11 others, added sack, two forced fumbles and recovered one

Grant Mathewson – Sault Ste. Marie Cougars – he tallied 26 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, added 13 assisted tackles, had a sack, and blocked a kick 

Defensive Backs:

Teagan Good – Quinte Skyhawks (third consecutive season) – he had another great season intercepting three passes, blocked three kicks, forced and recovered a fumble, had 20 tackles, assisted on five others and had a knockdown 

Brandon Vecchio – St. Clair Saints – he intercepted four passes and returned three of them for touchdowns, knocked down three passes and made six tackles

Daikaden Gauthier – Sault Ste. Marie Cougars – he picked off four passes, returning two of them for touchdowns, recovered two fumbles, returning one of them for a major, knocked down five passes, had 12 tackles and assisted on 11 others

Luca Gallo – Hamilton Hurricanes – he intercepted three passes, knocked down another, recovered a fumble, made 17 tackles and assisted on two others

Wes Schneider – London Beefeaters – he had 19 tackles, assisted on five other tackles, made three tackles for a loss, had a knockdown and forced a fumble

Punter: (tie)

Brayden Rivard – London Beefeaters (second consecutive season)– he needed to make 48 punts and averaged 27.6 net yards with each boot.

Teagan Good – Quinte Skyhawks – he booted a Conference high 49 punts, averaging 34.6 yards and tallied a pair of singles 

The Ontario Conference will play their semi-finals this coming weekend with a pair of games as the top seeded St. Clair Saints host the Sault Ste. Marie Cougars and the London Beefeaters welcome the Hamilton Hurricanes
