Canadian Junior Football League

Regular Season 2014

Week 4 - BC Conference
RB Trey Campbell – Westshore Rebels

The second year Rebel had fresh legs after sitting out the week before due to an injury.  He was virtually unstoppable in the Rebels home opener.  He rushed 16 times for 150 yards and had two touchdowns.   Not to be outdone by his feet, Campbell’s hands were just as effective.  He caught five passes for 115 and scored another touchdown.  In all, he had 21 touches for 265 yards and three touchdowns.

Week 4 - Prairie Conference
RB Logan Fischer – Saskatoon Hilltops

The Hilltops running attack on Sunday crushed the Winnipeg Rifles front seven led by fifth year running back Logan Fischer.  He carried the rock 27 times for 186 yards and tallied a pair of touchdowns.  Then through the air he caught two passes out of the backfield for 11 yards.  In all Fischer collected 23 touches for 197 yards and two majors.

Week 4 - Ontario Conference
Jake Marquette – Hamilton Hurricanes

The reigning Ontario Conference Rookie of the Year Jake Marquette was outstanding in the Hurricanes first win of the new season.  He completed an incredible 24 of 29 for 326 yards and threw three touchdown passes.  His Hurricanes welcome the Regina Thunder in a history making game on Sunday in the steel city.

Week 2 - BC Conference
Nick Wenman – Okanagan Sun

In his first career CJFL start quarterback Nick Wenman was simply outstanding guiding the Okanagan Sun to a shutout victory over their BC Interior Rivals the Kamloops Broncos.  Wenman finished the contest 20 of 30 for 278 yards, averaging 13.9 yards a competition and threw three touchdown passes.  He avoided any potential mental mistakes and even gained a yard on two carries.  With the win the Sun moved to 2-0.

Week 1 - BC Conference
D’Saun Greenaway – Westshore Rebels

The defending BC Conference champion Rebels showed they are no longer a run first team on Saturday night with 41 pass attempts. One of the “big” reasons why they will pass this year is 6’6, 205 pound receiver D’Saun Greenaway.  In their Week 1 loss the Ontario native caught seven passes for 114 yards and scored the first touchdown of the season.  He’s named the CJFL Offensive Player of the Week.
