The London Beefeaters are proud to announce the appointment of Jesse Maddox as the new head coach for the 2019 season.

Coach Maddox re-joined the Beefeaters program during the off-season as the team’s Defensive Coordinator as well as the Director of National Recruiting and is excited to be stepping into the new role of head coach.

Jesse has spent the past 10 years in Fort McMurray, AB as the owner and head coach of the Fort McMurray Monarchs (Alberta Football league). During that time, Coach Maddox led the Monarchs to two National Championships and looks to brings those same principles and ideas to the Beefeaters program.

Coach Maddox is a former London Beefeaters player and coach - he understands the culture of Junior Football in London and is excited to lead the team. Not only has Coach Maddox had great success coaching out west, he has established himself as a premier recruiter including being given the role of Western Canada Scout for the University of Western Ontario football program.

The Beefeaters will continue their indoor workouts with Coach Maddox leading the way.  He is also currently recruiting some additional coaches to add to our staff.

Chris Marshall, former head coach has tendered his resignation effective immediately. Coach Marshall has accepted a coaching position with the Western Mustangs.

Statement from Coach Marshall:

'First and foremost, I want to thank all the players that have come through our program. Your commitment to the vision and competitive drive has been what's helped establish the Beefeaters as a top tier program in the province. I've enjoyed every moment of being on the field with you guys and will miss working with each one of you. I look forward to celebrating all your wins coming this year.

I also want to take the time to say thanks to the coaches. You guys put in so much work and put up with me pushing you and I can say I have gained a number of lifelong friends from this experience. I would not have felt as comfortable stepping down if not for the great crew of coaches that are already in place.

I also want to thank our executive team, in particular Rob and Jen Annen, who work so tirelessly to make sure the program runs. Without them, we wouldn’t have a team and without their support, the coaching staff and the vision we brought to the table, we would not have had the success we've had so far. I wish the Beefeaters the best as they move forward and hopefully, I have left my mark. I know I will never forget all the players and coaches I've worked with on this team!’

The London Beefeaters are grateful to Chris for his dedication, hard work and commitment to the team. Chris joined our coaching staff in 2016 as Offensive Line Coach and then took on the role of Head Coach in 2017 – he has definitely left his mark - THANK YOU!!
