Offensive Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
RB Josh Ewanchyna – Saskatoon Hilltops

The Hilltops cruised to their fifth straight Prairie Conference title and their run game again proved lethal.  Josh Ewanchyna was the focal point rushing 24 times for 163 yards and scored all three of the Hilltops touchdowns.  He also made two receptions for 33 yards.

BC Conference
QB Duncan Little – Langley Rams

After being banged up in the Conference semi-final Duncan Little returned with a vengeance in the Cullen Cup and led the Rams to a championship road victory.  He threw 13 of 19 for 238 yards in his aerial attack, but he was also dangerous on the ground rushing four times and scoring two touchdowns.

Ontario Conference
QB Colton Allen – Windsor AKO Fratmen

In leading the visiting Fratmen into Hamilton against the undefeated Hurricanes, Allen showed that Windsor would not relinquish the Teddy Morris trophy without a fight.  Despite the loss the rookie QB stood tall against the Ontario Conference’s top ranked defence completing 29 of 43 passes for 346 yards and a touchdown.

Defensive Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
DL Garth Knittig – Saskatoon Hilltops

The Hilltops defence was suffocating on Sunday swallowing anything the Huskies tossed their way.  Garth Knittig was outstanding make seven solo tackles and assisted on two others as he controlled the trenches.

BC Conference
LB Anthony Blackwell – Langley Rams

The Rams defence was a major factor on Sunday in their championship win.  Anthony Blackwell played possibly his best game of the season with eight solo tackles to lead the way.  He also forced and recovered a fumble.

Ontario Conference
DL Zachary Hoffner – Hamilton Hurricanes

With the AKO Fratmen marching deep into Hamilton territory and on the verge up taking a 14 point lead in the second quarter, Hoffner delivered a devastating hit on the Windsor quarterback resulting in a fumble that was scooped up by fellow Hurricane Tim Salau who returned the fumble 73 yards for a touchdown.  On the afternoon Hoffner also tallied two solo tackles, assisted on three other tackles, and knocked down two passes. No play was more critical or timely than his forced fumble that sparked the Hurricanes to continue their undefeated season.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
LB Adam Benkic – Saskatoon Hilltops

One of the reasons the Edmonton Huskies struggled on Sunday was due to field position.  Adam Benkic led the special teams with four solo tackles to keep the Huskies from breaking out and collecting a long return.

BC Conference
K Jayden Sheilan – Langley Rams

The right leg of Jayden Sheilan was perfect on Sunday.  He connected on all six field goal opportunities and was 2-2 in converts.  As a matter of fact he accounted for 20 of the 39 points the Rams scored in their victory.  He also booted 10 kick-offs for 256 net yards.

Ontario Conference
R Branden McCraney – Windsor AKO Fratmen

Just when it looked like Hamilton was about to pull away following 21 straight points, Branden McCraney took the ensuing kickoff and blasted through the Hurricanes coverage unit for a 94 yard kickoff return touchdown.  He also had a second return for 28 yards for a 61 yard average.  For good measure the speedster had six receptions for 95 yards, one of which went for a touchdown.
