Offensive Players of the Week

BC Conference
WR Jevon Cottoy – Langley Rams

The Rams passing attack in their semi-final victory played a major factor gaining 431 yards.  Of that Jevon Cottoy was brilliant collecting 246 yards on seven receptions.  He added an incredible four touchdown receptions setting a new CJFL playoff record in a single game.   His seven receptions averaged 35 yards a catch.

Prairie Conference
QB Jordan Walls – Saskatoon Hilltops

The Hilltops offence was rolling on Sunday afternoon and Jordan Walls was a major reason why.  He completed 18 of 29 passes for 473 yards and connected on four touchdown passes.  His 473 yards is the second most all-time in a single CJFL playoff game.

Ontario Conference
WR Omar Hayes-Williams – Windsor AKO Fratmen

In less than ideal passing conditions, Omar Hayes-Williams showed exactly why he was named an OFC All-Star receiver as he hauled in seven receptions for a game high 112 yards and three touchdowns, the longest major going for 58 yards.

Defensive Players of the Week

BC Conference
DB Anthony Blackwell – Langley Rams

The Rams defence frustrated the VI Raiders on Saturday and helped propel them to a semi-final victory.  Defensive back Anthony Blackwell was outstanding.  His 12 solo tackles set a new BC Conference playoff record and added two knockdowns

Prairie Conference
LB Oshane Samuels – Edmonton Huskies

He tied the all-time CJFL record with a pair of fumble recoveries for touchdowns.  The last time a player accomplished this was in 1950.  He also added eight solo tackles, had an assist and forced one of the fumbles he recovered.

Ontario Conference
DL Jamahl Burke-Johnson - Hamilton Hurricanes

In a game that saw the Hurricanes defence completely stop the Grizzlies rushing attack in its tracks Jamahl Burke-Johnson led the way forcing two fumbles and recovering both as well as making three solo tackles and assisting on two others.

Special Teams Players of the Week

BC Conference
R Jared Braun – VI Raiders

When the Raiders needed a big play on special teams Braun answered the bell.  He returned 10 kicks, 199 yards, averaging 19 yards a return giving the Raiders decent field position.

Prairie Conference
R Wes Bookland – Edmonton Huskies

During Sunday’s semi-final Wes Bookland returned four punts giving the Huskies excellent field position. He also had the most exciting play of the afternoon; a 73 yard punt return for a touchdown.

Ontario Conference
K Andrew Beaton - Windsor AKO Fratmen

In his first game back from injury, Andrew Beaton accounted for 10 points in the Fratmen’s 46-0 semi-final win over the Beefeaters.  Beaton connected on all six of his convert attempts, kicked a field goal and added a single.  Despite the blustery conditions and aided by his coverage teams, His punting constantly pinned the Beefeaters in poor field position as his six punts were only returned for a paltry 17 yards.
