The BC Conference announced their Most Outstanding Players and Coach of the Year for the 2018 season as a build up to the Cullen Cup championship game on Sunday afternoon when the #1 Okanagan Sun host the #2 Langley Rams.

BC Conference Outstanding Players:

Ranji Mattu Memorial Coach of the Year – Bob Reist – Valley Huskers (6-4).  He took over a team that had lost 31 consecutive games and turned them into a playoff team.

Outstanding Offensive Lineman – Derek Walde – Kamloops Broncos

Outstanding Offensive Back – Rhett Williams – VI Raiders - He won the BC Conference rushing crown with 136 carries* for 939 yards*, 9 touchdowns*, averaging 6.9 yards a carry.

Outstanding Receiver – Anthony Dyck – Valley Huskers – 46 receptions for 830 yards, 11 touchdowns*, averaging 18 yards a catch*

Outstanding Defensive Lineman – Skye King – Langley Rams – 18 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 fumble recovery

Outstanding Defensive Linebacker – Conor Richard – Okanagan Sun (second straight season) – 27 tackles, 7 assisted tackles, 6 sacks, 6 blocked kicks*, 3 knockdowns, 3 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, one for a touchdown

Outstanding Defensive Back – Kyle Clarot – Langley Rams – 27 tackles, 7 assisted tackles, 9 knockdowns and 4 interceptions

Outstanding Special Teams – Conor Richard – Okanagan Sun – tied a CJFL record with 6 blocked kicks, had 15 returns, 354 return yards and 1 kickoff return for a touchdown of 96 yards

Return Specialist – Brandon Poulin – Valley Huskers – he collected 550 yards on 20 kick-off returns, had an average of 27.5 yards and a 93 yard return for a touchdown. He also tallied 36 punt returns for 296 yards.

Rookie of the Year – Receiver Eli Nelms-Horton – VI Raiders – 22 receptions for 579 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year – Linebacker Conor Richard – Okanagan Sun – 27 tackles, 7 assisted tackles, 6 sacks, 6 blocked kick, 3 knockdowns, 3 forced fumble, 2 fumble recovery , one for a touchdown

Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year – Quarterback Julian Wytinck – Valley Huskers – 189 completions* for 2745 yards,* 17 touchdowns, a 54.5% completion percentage and a passer efficiency rating of 71.6%

Sunday afternoon the Sun will host the Rams in the Canadian Bowl BC Conference Cullen Cup championship game with the winner hosting the Ontario Conference champions for the National Semi-Final on November 3rd.
