The Raiders, Rams and Sun claim a huge win

Langley Rams 27

The Langley Rams played a near perfect road game dismantling the Rebels using the ground game as their primary weapon.

Max Joseph was nearly untouchable carrying the rock 24 times for 226 yards and scored three touchdowns.   He also caught a 22 yard pass.

Defensively the Rams tallied five sacks, forced seven turnovers and had a blocked kick.  Anthony Blackwell led the way with six tackles and had an interception while Kyle Clarot had five tackles, had a knockdown and a pick.

The Rebels were frustrated all afternoon as quarterback Ashton MacKinnon finished 15 of 25 for 167 yards but threw four interceptions.

Next week the Rams (4-3) will host the Kamloops Broncos (0-7) while the Rebels (3-3-1) visit the Valley Huskers (4-3) at 2:00pm.

The Raiders offence didn’t muster much until the second half leading 5-0 at halftime.  They would then score 13 points in both the third and fourth quarters to cruise to victory.

Quarterback Jacob Laberge finished 9 of 13 for 188 yards and threw for a pair of touchdowns finding Brett Ablitt twice.  He would make five receptions for a game high 87 yards and the two majors.  Laberge also ran for a pair of touchdowns in the second half.

On the defence Jeremie Cheng had two interceptions and Conner Kyliuk had a pair of sacks.  Meanwhile Matthew Cox led the Raiders with five tackles.

The Broncos lone touchdown came on a passing play as quarterback Reid Vankoughnett found Tim Solypa for the major.  Vankoughett finished 21 of 38 for 221 yards and the score.

Next week the Raiders (5-2) will host the Okanagan Sun (4-2-1) while the Broncos (0-7) visit the Langley Rams (4-3).

Valley Huskers 13

The Sun avenged a Week 3 loss with a blowout on Saturday night at the Apple Bowl.  The offence exploded for 542 yards, 331 of which was on the ground.  Kelton Kouri led the way with 10 carries for 140 yards and had a touchdown.

Quarterback Jacob Loucks completed seven passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns.  One of which was an 84 yard catch and run by Jevan Kaechele.  In all he caught three passes for 115 yards while Kouri caught the other touchdown pass and 85 yards in total.

Kicker Isaac Wegner had his best CJFL game connecting on all five field goal attempts and all four converts.

On the defensive side Dustin Magee had his best CJFL game with a fumble return for a touchdown, an interception, two knockdowns and two solo tackles.

Meanwhile back to back BC Conference Defensive Player of the Week Tyler Going had another two interceptions and Jordan Rae had one.

The Huskers lone touchdown came from Remis Tshioyo who returned a punt 25 yards for a major.  

A pair of quarterbacks were used as Julian Wytinck and Nicolas Nica combined to complete 20 of 50 for 269 yards.

Next week the Sun (4-2-1) will visit the VI Raiders (5-2) in a first place showdown, while the Huskers (4-3) will host the Westshore Rebels (3-3-1).
