Offensive Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
QB Clark McCallum - London Beefeaters

In a route over the Niagara Raiders the second year pivot lit up the scoreboard completing 14 of his 21 pass attempts for 301 yards and four touchdowns.  McCallum was very effective spreading the wealth as nine receivers caught passes on the day with the longest of his completion going for 75 yards.

BC Conference
WR Mike West – VI Raiders

The Raiders showed a potent passing attack on Sunday and receiver Mike West was a major factor.  He hauled in eight passes for 197 yards, averaging 25 yards a catch.

Prairie Conference
Offensive Line – Saskatoon Hilltops

The seven big bodies of the Hilltops offensive line dominated the trenches on Saturday night allowing the offence to move the football at will.  Behind the line the Toppers offence tallied 563 yards of total offence, 363 of which was on the ground.  They also scored eight offensive touchdowns.

Defensive Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
LB Anthony Gharib - Windsor AKO Fratmen

In a hard fought defensive struggle on the road the Fratmen gave the undefeated Hamilton Hurricanes offence their toughest challenge to date. Gharib led the way and amassed 15 defensive points recording a sack, four tackles, had two assists and had a knockdown.

BC Conference
DB Tyler Going – Okanagan Sun

For the second straight week the Going is named the Defensive Player of the Week in the BC Conference after making five tackles, two sacks and intercepting a pass in the Sunday afternoon victory for the Sun.

Prairie Conference
DL Justin Kwiatkowski – Winnipeg Rifles

The Rifles defence was stifling on Saturday night leading to their second win of the season.  Kwiatkowski played a major factor collecting 1.5 sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery, two tackles, had a knockdown and a special teams tackle.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
DB Derrick Baddeley - Hamilton Hurricanes

In another stellar effort on special teams Baddeley was a tackling demon making three sole special teams tackles while assisting on two other tackles.  Baddeley’s efforts helped contain the OFC’s two most dynamic kick returners and was an integral factor in winning the field position battle.

BC Conference
R Max Joseph – Langley Rams

For the second time this season Joseph played a major factor on special teams.  He returned the opening kick-off 100 yards for a touchdown setting the tone in Langley.  In all he had three kick returns averaging 33 yards in the Rams second straight win.

Prairie Conference
R Brendan Naujoks – Winnipeg Rifles

Saturday night Naujoks returned his second punt for a touchdown this season.  In all he returned five kicks for 79 yards averaging 15.8 yards a return giving the Rifles the excellent field position they needed to lead their offence.
