Okanagan Sun 35
VI Raiders 22

The Sun looked like a different team with the return of starting quarterback Jacob Loucks from injury.  He finished 13 of 28 for 208 yards and threw a pair of touchdown passes finding Kian Ishani and Brandan Ihanza from 15 yards out.  Loucks also had a rushing touchdown on five carries.

The defence also got in on the scoring when Cole Stroud picked up a fumble and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown.  In all the defence forced eight turnovers with Tyler Going and Dustin Magee picking off passes.  Going also led the club with two sacks.

The Raiders were outstanding through the air as quarterback Jacob Laberge was 20 of 47 for 336 yards, with his favourite target Mike West catching eight passes for 197 yards.  Once they got close the running attack took over and scored three touchdowns.  Rhett Williams, Cole McGarvey and Andre Goulbourne each scored on the ground.

Next week the Sun (3-2-1) will host the Valley Huskers (4-2) while the Raiders (4-2) will visit the Kamloops Broncos (0-6).

Langley Rams 35
Valley Huskers 19

For the second time this season the Rams beat the Huskers, this time in Langley.

The Rams used a potent aerial attack as quarterback Duncan Little completed 18 of 29 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns.  Jevon Cottoy hauled in a game high 123 yards on five receptions and scored a major.  Nick Agnoletto and Sheldon Gangloff also found the endzone.

On the ground Max Joseph also scored a touchdown.  He was dynamite on special teams as well returning a kick 100 yards for a score.

Defensively the Rams held the Huskers to just 18 yards on the ground and forced four turnovers.  Nathan Murray intercepted a pass and Anthony Blackwell recovered a fumble.

Without much success on the ground the Huskers needed to rely on quarterback Julian Wytinck who completed 28 of 46 passes for 317 yards and threw a pair of touchdowns.  He connected with Brandon Poulin and Anthony Dyck who hauled in his BC Conference leading ninth touchdown.  Wytinck also ran for a major.

The Huskers defence forced four turnovers including a pick by Simon Winsnes and fumble recoveries from Jordan Farry and Harry Sommerville.

Next week the Rams (3-3) will host the Westshore Rebels (3-1-1) while the Huskers (4-2) will visit the Okanagan Sun (3-2-1).

Westshore Rebels 34
Kamloops Broncos 20

With their win on Saturday the Rebels scored four important points in the standings and they used the pass to get the job done.

The quarterback combination of Mason Brown and Ashton MacKinnon finished 18 of 29 for 353 yards and three touchdowns.   Kaine Stevenson, Nathan Falito and Cody Holmes each caught majors while Holmes led all receivers with 98 yards on four catches.  Khaliel James added to the scoring with a touchdown on 13 carries.

The Rebels defence frustrated the Broncos offence and Leonardo Ingram recorded a pair of sacks and Bryon MacKinnon had a game high five tackles.

The two Broncos’ touchdowns came through the air as quarterback Reid Vankoughnett completed 15 passes finding Gabe Sakolsky and Darian Pritchard for scores.

Defensively the Broncos forced three interceptions and three sacks.

Next week the Rebels (3-2-1) will host the Langley Rams (3-3) while the Broncos (0-6) will welcome the VI Raiders (4-2).
