Offensive Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
WR Lee Brown – Regina Thunder

Brown helped lead a passing attack that gained 366 yards on the road in Edmonton.  He hauled in a team high eight receptions for 144 yards and caught a touchdown from quarterback Brock Sich.

Ontario Conference
RB Tazie Vang-Bell – London Beefeaters

He was a threat both in the running and passing games as he led the Beefeaters over the winless Niagara Regional Raiders.  Vang-Bell eclipsed the century mark with 103 yards on 14 carries with two of those carries going for touchdowns while also hauling in three passes for 67 yards and a third touchdown.

Defensive Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
DL Garth Knittig – Saskatoon Hilltops

On the road on Sunday the Hilltops defence held the Winnipeg Rifles at bay.  One of the major reasons was defensive lineman Garth Knittig and his six solo tackles, two assists and was nice enough to share a sack with Cody Peters.

Ontario Conference
LB Joemy Maisonneuve - Ottawa Sooners

In an incredible effort the Sooners' linebacker recorded five tackles, two quarterback sacks, forced a pair of fumbles, recovering one of them for five yards, and picked off one pass returning it for 25 yards.  In all Maisonneuve tallied 26 defensive points.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
R Jake Withrow – Edmonton Wildcats

The Wildcats recorded their first win of the season, a shutout on Saturday in Calgary.  Special teams led by Jake Withrow played a major factor.  He returned 12 kicks for 166 yards and gave his offence great field position.

Ontario Conference
K Andrew Beaton - Windsor AKO Fratmen

He was perfect kicking the ball for the Fratmen on the weekend.  Beaton was perfect on converts going 6-6 and when the Fratmen were not scoring touchdowns he connected on all three of his field goal attempts with his longest coming from 36 yards out.  Beaton also averaged 64 yards on his eight kick-offs with his longest travelling 80 yards resulting in a rouge.  All in all Beaton accounted for 16 of the Fratmen points.
