The Beefeaters, Fratmen and Hurricanes each win

The Beefeaters rode a 27 point first half and cruised to a shutout victory on Saturday night.

Through the air quarterback Clarke McCallum finished 16 of 24 for 218 yards and threw two touchdown passes.  Tazie Vang-Bell and Noah Olynyk each hauled in a major while Spencer Foster caught four passes for a game high 118 yards.  

On the ground the Beefs tallied four scores.  Vang-Bell rushed 14 times for 103 yards and two majors while McCallum and back-up pivot Mack Fergus each ran one in.

The defence held the Raiders to just 12 yards on the ground and 155 yards of net offence.  They recorded three sacks and six turnovers.

Next week the Beefeaters (2-1) will meet the Windsor AKO Fratmen (2-1) while the Raiders (0-3) visit the GTA Grizzlies (0-3).

The Fratmen scored early and often and took control of the ball game with 24 first quarter points after opening the scoring two minutes into the game.

In all the offence collected 501 yards of net offense led by the passing attack.  Colton Allen and Daniel Mailloux combined for 19 of 30 for 369 yards and four touchdowns.  Jared Hayes-Williams, Dante Lewis and Marcus Cooper each scored majors.

On the ground both Branden McCraney and Nash Prieur got into the endzone.

The Fratmen defence held the Sooners running game to just 86 yards, although the lone Sooners touchdown came on the ground courtesy of quarterback Thompson Richards. Through the air Richards finished 20 of 45 for 256 yards, finding six different receivers.  Danny Obiang had a big game with nine receptions and 141 yards.

Defensively the Sooners collected four sacks, two of which came from Joemy Maisonneuve.  He also had an interception and five solo tackles.

Next week the Fratmen (2-1) welcome the London Beefeaters (2-1), while the Sooners (2-1) welcome the Hamilton Hurricanes (3-0).
