The CJFL is proud to announce the Football Canada Players of the Week following Week 4 of the regular season.

Now FANS you can VOTE for your favourite to be named the CJFL Fans Choice Player of the Week.  Polls close at 4:00pm PST/7:00pm EST on Wednesday.  VOTE HERE.

Offensive Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
QB Jordan Walls – Saskatoon Hilltops

In just one half of their route over the Calgary Colts Walls launched an outstanding aerial attack completing 14 of 19 for 231 yards and threw two touchdowns.  He also used his legs and rushed 10 yards for a major.

BC Conference
QB Julian Wytinck – Valley Huskers

For the second time this season Wytinck is named the Conference Player of the Week. He led the Huskers to yet another win last weekend with a tremendous game.  He finished with 22 completions for an incredible 411 yards and threw for three more touchdowns.  He added four carries for nine yards.

Ontario Conference
QB Jake Marquette – Hamilton Hurricanes
In less than ideal weather conditions on the road in London and playing mistake free football, Marquette led the Hurricanes over the Beefeaters in an early season showdown.   He completed 14 of 26 for 288 yards and four touchdowns.  Perhaps most importantly, Jake did not turn over the ball against the Beefeaters. He also scrambled for 34 yards on five carries to keep the chains moving.

Defensive Players for the Week

Prairie Conference
DB Jayden Dalke – Edmonton Wildcats

No surprise that Dalke led the entire CJFL this past weekend with nine solo tackles giving him a two week total of 13.  Saturday he also knocked down a pass and had a special teams tackle.

BC Conference
LB Conor Richard – Okanagan Sun

Saturday night the Sun defence was stifling led by Richard.  He collected two sacks, had four tackles, forced a fumble and had a knockdown.   Not to mention the pressure getting into the back field and causing havoc for the Rams offensively.

Ontario Conference
LB Oscar Reddecop – London Beefeaters

Despite the loss against the Hurricanes, the veteran linebacker was a one man wrecking crew.  He had eight solo tackles, a quarterback sack and blocked a kick.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
K Cole Sabourin – Edmonton Huskies

For the second straight week Sabourin was the best special teams player in the Prairie Conference.  He connected on two field goals including a booming 42 yarder.  On his eight punts he averaged 33 net yards and was a perfect 5-5 in converts

BC Conference
K Isaac Wegner – Okanagan Sun

He was the primary source of points for the Sun on Saturday night, scoring 15 of their 21.  He blasted five field goals with his longest from 39 yards away.  His 10 punts averaged 33.6 net yards giving his defence a bit more breathing room and flipping the field.

Ontario Conference
DB Derrick Baddeley – Hamilton Hurricanes

In a game where the weather played as much a role as any, big plays on special teams often prove the difference and Derrick Baddeley provided two key plays knifing through the Beefeaters protection to block two punts.  In both instances, they resulted in short fields and led to a touchdown.  These two scores proved to be the difference in the margin of victory for the Canes.  For good measure he also added two special teams tackles.
