Defensively the Canes shutdown the Beefeaters passing game with eight sacks. Tom Zarafonaitis, Zachary Hoffner and Tyler Dekkers each had two sacks while Brayden Hill had an interception.

The Beefeaters lone offensive touchdown came on the ground as Shayden Smith rumbled into the end zone.  Quarterback Clarke McCallum finished 13 of 26 for 164 yards and threw a pick.

The only other score came on the defensive side as Jake Townend forced a fumble and jumped on it in the end zone.

Next week the Hurricanes (2-0) will host the GTA Grizzlies (0-2) on Labour Day Monday while the Beefeaters (1-1) host the Niagara Regional Raiders (0-2) on Saturday night.

In addition to throwing four touchdown passes, Allen also rushed for two.

The Fratmen defence got in on the act as well when Spence Trinier had a 35 yard pick six.

On the Raiders side quarterback Kam Mitchell did all of the scoring.  He finished with 162 yards on 11 completions and threw a touchdown pass to Damonte Brundidge. He also ran for a major from 10 yards out.
