The GTA Grizzlies will open the new CJFL season on Sunday when they host the London Beefeaters for the second consecutive year.
Last season the Grizzlies won just once and missed the Ontario Conference playoffs. However this season they have retooled and have some veteran leadership that will no doubt help them. The biggest hole they need to fill is at the quarterback position after the departure of Drew Besco who threw for 900 yards last season.
Head coach Mike Leonard speaks with Ryan Watters about the upcoming season and the strength of this year’s team.
Head Coach: Mike Leonard
2017 Result: finished 1-7
Key Departures: Drew Besco, Tyler Dekkers
2018 Schedule Quirk: The Grizzlies will play a home and home with the Windsor AKO Fratmen September 23 and 30, first in Windsor then the following week in Toronto.
