The London Beefeaters could have been the biggest surprise in the CJFL last season.  With a rookie head coach they finished 5-3 and narrowly missed out on hosting an Ontario Conference playoff semi-final.

The immediate future looks bright for the Beefs with the return of quarterback Clarke McCallum, last season’s Conference Rookie of the Year.

At the helm Chris Marshall returns to the head coaching role for the second straight season and is confident in his team and coaching staff.  The experience of last season’s run to the playoffs will no doubt prove invaluable coming into this year which begins on Sunday in Toronto.

The Beefeaters also did an excellent job creating a presence in the community.  They attended events, volunteered at numerous functions and gave back where they could.  In turn the community events have already resulted in more local players staying in London and will suit up for the Beefeaters this season.

Coach Marshall talks with Ryan Watters about the upcoming season and what he expects when his club kicks off this weekend when they visit the GTA Grizzlies.

Head Coach: Chris Marshall (2nd season)

2017 Result: finished 5-3 and played the Hamilton Hurricanes in the Ontario Conference semi-final losing 44-7.

Key Departures: Hayden Amis, George Panageotopolous

Expected Team Strength: The Beefeaters believe they finally have depth on their roster which will be their strength.  They have added to their receiver position as well, giving quarterback Clarke McCallum more options to throw to.

2018 Schedule Quirk: They will see the Ottawa Sooners in back to back weeks September 22nd and 29th.  They will visit Ottawa on the 22nd then host the Sooners on the 29th at TD Stadium.
