The best of the best from Week 1

The CJFL is proud to announce their Players of the Week following an exciting Week 1, the regular season finale.

Now FANS you can VOTE for your favourite to be named the CJFL Fans Choice Player of the Week.  Polls close at 4:00pm PST/7:00pm EST on Wednesday.  VOTE HERE.

Offensive Player of the Week

QB Julian Wytinck – Valley Huskers
A historic win for the Valley Huskers on Sunday, snapping their 31 game losing streak with a two point victory over the defending BC champion VI Raiders.  Julian Wytinck made his debut and didn’t disappoint leading the Huskers to score21 points in the final quarter completing the come from behind victory.  He finished 25 of 39 for 310 yards and threw four touchdown passes.  He added four carries for 18 yards.

Defensive Player of the Week

DB Kyle Clarot – Langley Rams
The BC Conference Rookie of the Year picked up right where he left off last season.   He was a nuisance in the Rams secondary making six tackles, assisted on a pair and knockdown a pass.

Special Teams Player of the Week

LB Conor Richard – Okanagan Sun
The Okanagan Sun dominated the Kamloops Broncos in every facet of the game on Sunday and Special Teams was no different.  Conor Richard highlighted the game with a 96 yard kick-off return for a touchdown.  He compiled 107 yards on a pair of kick-off returns putting the Sun offence in excellent field position.
