The Okanagan Sun had high hopes for last season, but faulted at home in the playoffs losing to the VI Raiders in the semi-final.  That loss has fueled this upcoming season as they have gotten bigger and stronger at almost every position.

Head Coach Ben Macauley enters his third season at the helm and feels this is the best all-around team he has had.  His main focus coming out of last season was to be able to run the ball and protect the quarterback and he feels the talent he has brought in will be able to do exactly that.  His line will average 6’3 and 300 pounds anchored by J’min Pelley who tips the scales at 6’6, 360 pounds.  The Sun will feature a number of players who have left U Sports and have found a home in the Okanagan.

The Sun will also need to solidify their quarterback position after the departure of starter Nick Wenman who threw for 16 touchdowns.  Three quarterbacks will dress on Sunday in their opener in Kamloops with the projected starter Jakob Loucks.

Head Coach: Ben Macauley (3rd season)
2017 Result: 8-1-1 - lost in the semi-final to the VI Raiders
Starting QB: Jakob Loucks (Mount Allison)

Key Departures: Nathaniel Anderson, Kyler Mosley, Eli Haynes

Key Additions: J’min Pelley, Nick Daily, Nick Cross

Expected team strengths: The offensive and defensive lines.  The Sun have a number of big, talented players that will move the opposition backwards.

2018 Schedule Quirk:  The Sun will play their first four games on the road and won’t have their home opener until after the Labour Day bye on September 8th when they host the Rams.
