The Langley Rams have adopted the “1 Beat” mantra after bringing in the BC Conference’s All-Time winningest coach Matt ‘Snoop’ Blokker.  After his stint with Calgary Colts ended last year, Blokker is back in BC hoping to have the same sort of success he enjoyed with the VI Raiders leading them to back to back Canadian Bowl championships  in 2008 and 2009.

We won’t know how quickly the Rams will gel under their new leadership, but certainly coach Blokker has the experience and successful track record that it shouldn’t take his players very long to beat as one.

Coming out of their main camp the Rams are excited about their “loaded” receiving core and did see some excellent progress with their line play both on the offensive and defensive sides.   Perhaps other than at the quarterback position, the Rams will be looking for one or two players to take control of their running attack after the graduation of former All-Canadian Nathan Lund.

Head Coach: Matt Blokker (1st season)
2017 Result: 4-6, fourth place, lost in semi-final at Westshore
Starting QB: Duncan Little (University of Calgary)

Key Departures: Khalik Johnson, Nathan Lund, Rylan Matters

Key Additions: Duncan Little, Jevon Cottey, Xavier Ramsey

Expected Team Strengths:  Coach Blokker had high praise for his receiving core coming out of main camp.  He was also excited about the offensive and defensive lines along with the Rams secondary which almost always seems like a solid group of talented players.

2018 Schedule Quirk:  The Rams will play a home and home with the Okanagan Sun, with the Labour Day bye sandwiched in between.   They will host the Sun on August 25, then visit the Apple Bowl on September 8.
