The Calgary Colts have announced Tim Kearse as their new head coach effective immediately.

Kearse was a member of the Colts coaching staff and took over in an interim basis after Matt Blokker stepped down.

In a press release the Colts state, “we are very happy for TK to lead our organization into a new and exciting era of junior football in Calgary.”

This will be the second CJFL head coaching roll for Kearse. He was the head coach of the Westshore Rebels in 2013 after spending the 1998-2000 seasons as the offensive coordinator.

The 58 year old has a wealth of football knowledge and is very familiar with the Colts organization and the CJFL after joining the team prior to the 2014 season.

He got a taste of the life in the NFL playing three games with the Indianapolis Colts in 1987 and made three receptions for 56 yards.

The Colts and the rest of the Prairie Conference will have a bit more incentive in 2018 as the Canadian Bowl will be hosted by the Conference winner on November 10, 2018.  The season will open in August.
