They were the very best in Week 7 of the season

The CJFL unveils the Players of the Week after Week 7 of the regular season.

Now FANS you can VOTE for your favourite to be named the CJFL Fans Choice Player of the Week.  Polls close at 4:00pm PST/7:00pm EST on Wednesday.  VOTE HERE

Offensive Players of the Week

BC Conference
WR Shamar Donelson – Okanagan Sun

His best game in the Sun orange and brown as Shamar Donelson torched the VI Raiders secondary hauling in five receptions for 178 yards and four touchdowns.  His longest score was a 71 yard major sprinting away from the defender.

Prairie Conference
QB Sawyer Buettner – Regina Thunder

It was arguably the best game in the CJFL this season and Sawyer Buettner played a major role in leading the Regina Thunder to a 23 point second half and come from behind victory over the defending champs.  Buettner finished with 33 completions for 374 yards and threw a pair of touchdowns.

Ontario Conference
QB Brandon Reaume – Windsor AKO Fratmen

For the second time this season Brandon Reaume has been named the Conference Player of the Week and there was no doubt after his performance on Saturday.  He completed 11 of 14 for 377 and threw an incredible six touchdown passes.  He also rushed three times for 25 yards and scored another major. His performance helped the Fratmen take sole possession of first place.

Defensive Players of the Week

BC Conference
DL Quinton Bowles – VI Raiders

He has been a major impact returning to the Raiders this season.  On Sunday afternoon he was part of a defensive line that held the Okanagan Sun running attack to under 100 yards. Bowles collected four tackles, assisted on another one and had a game high two sacks.

Prairie Conference
DB Colton Holmes – Saskatoon Hilltops

He was a big part of the Hilltops secondary that was tested all night long by the Regina Thunder.  Holmes was outstanding with a game high eight tackles and assisted on two others.

Ontario Conference
LB Pren Duhanaj – Windsor AKO Fratmen

The Fratmen defence frustrated the London Beefeaters all night, not giving up much.  They were led by linebacker Pren Duhanaj who collected 3.5 sacks, two tackles and two assisted stops.

Special Teams Players of the Week

BC Conference
K James Parker – VI Raiders

His right leg helped the Raiders play to a 31-31 tie on the road in Kelowna.  Parker booted all three field goals he attempted and was a perfect 2-2 in converts.  He compiled seven kick-offs that traveled 376 gross yards. In all, Parker tallied 11 points.

Prairie Conference
KR/PR Isaac Foord – Regina Thunder

Field position is always so important when playing the defending champions.  Thanks to the kick returning of Isaac Foord, the Regina Thunder were able to operate with great success.  Foord collected seven kick returns for 85 returned yards.

Ontario Conference
K Andrew Beaton – Windsor AKO Fratmen

For the third consecutive week Andrew Beaton has been named the Special Teams Player of the Week.  He was good on all eight conversion attempts, had nine kick-offs for 484 gross yards and five punts, grossing 171 yards.
