The Westshore Rebels open main camp on Thursday

The defending BC Conference champion Westshore Rebels open their main camp on Thursday under the watchful eye of new head coach Charly Cardilicchia.  After winning the Cullen Cup championship last season, the Rebels shift from being the “hunter” to taking over the “hunted” role, something Coach Cardilicchia is just fine with.

It will no doubt be a new look offence without CJFL Coach of the Year JC Boice and CJFL Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year Jamel Lyles.  That said, the Rebels return a number of key pieces from last year’s team including their offensive line, running back Trey Campbell and opening day starter Scott Borden.    On defence the Rebels will be just as strong as last year led by All-Canadian Kent Hicks.

Coach Cardilicchia speaks with Ryan Watters about main camp and the expectations for the upcoming season, which by the way the Rebels open on July 29 as they make a visit to the Okanagan Sun in a rematch of last year’s Cullen Cup championship.
