The best of the best in Week 2, now vote for the Top Performer

The CJFL is proud to announce the BCFC Players of the Week from Week 2 of the regular season

Offensive Player of the Week
RB Jamel Lyles – Westshore Rebels

The Westshore Rebels set a new team record gaining 669 total yards of offence in the franchise’s first ever win over the VI Raiders on Saturday night.  The running attack was simply impressive led by the former University of Manitba Bison Jamel Lyles.  He carried a CJFL high 32 times in Week 2 for 270 yards and scored a touchdown.  Coming out of the backfield he also made one reception for 22 yards, gaining 292 all-purpose yards.  Incredibly Lyles was named the Special Teams Player of the Week last week.

Defensive Player of the Week
LB Shaun Robinson - Westshore Rebels

For the second straight week a Rebels’ defensive player wins this award.  The “D” didn’t allow a second half point to the VI Raiders, led by linebacker Shaun Robinson.  He tallied six solo tackles, had an assist, half a sack and recovered a fumble he forced.

Special Teams Player of the Week
K – Tiernan Docherty

The Rams kicker set a new team record with a 78 yard punt, the longest in team history. He was a perfect 2-2 in field goals and 4-4 in converts and collected five punts, averaging 47.6 yards a boot.   Docherty also made six kick-offs, averaging 62.5 yards a kick.
