The journey to the 2016 Canadian Bowl begins

The Canadian Junior Football League is pleased to announce the 2016 schedule that kicks off in the BC Football Conference (BCFC) on Saturday July 23, 2016.

Following the BCFC kick off, both the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) and the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) will open the season on August 13, 2016.

The BCFC will play a 10 game schedule, while the PFC has increased to nine games and the OFC will continue to play eight.  This will be the final year for the OFC to include overaged players and will become full CJFL members in 2017.

Saturday September 17th will be an extremely exciting day.  Not only will the CJFL make history with a pair of Interconference Games, but will play a regular season game in a neutral site.  The Calgary Colts and Regina Thunder will go head to head in a showcase game in Medicine Hat Alberta as the CJFL expands its reach.

Also September 17th will see some incredible rivalry games.  In BCFC, the Island Rivalry between the Westshore Rebels and VI Raiders as well as the Battle of Edmonton when the Wildcats and Huskies square off.

The month of August has been named “CJFL Minor Football Month.”  Teams will get back to the grassroots and celebrate the kids that play minor football.  Fans will no doubt see a number of minor football players in the stands during home games.

The CJFL playoffs will open in BCFC on October 15-16, followed by the PFC and OFC the weekend of October 22-23.   The CJFL Conference Finals will kick-off the weekend of October 29-30.
The 2016 Canadian Bowl will be hosted in the BCFC Champion on Saturday November 12, 2016.
