Derek Yachison Signs With BC Lions

The BC Football Conference is pleased to announce former Kamloops Broncos receiver Derek Yachison has signed a multi-year contract with the BC Lions, beginning in 2016.

Yachison was simply outstanding for the Broncos during this past season.  He set a new BCFC single season record with 73 receptions, collecting 1,026 yards and 14 touchdowns.   His 73 receptions ties him with Andrew Busby of the 2006 Saskatoon Hilltops for second most in CJFL history.

During the 2015 season, Yachison also became the BCFC leader in career receptions, hauling in his 168th pass on September 12th in Langley.  He was named the CJFL's Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year.

Yachison will continue his offseason workout program, trying to get bigger, stronger and faster before reporting to the Lions Rookie camp at the end of May.  He’ll be in familiar surroundings as the camp will take place at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops.

Like all current Lions, Yachison will be attending camp looking to win a spot on the 2016 roster.

He got a taste of the CFL level last season, attending Lions camp and practicing with them during the BCFC season.

In other BCFC news, former Langley Rams offensive lineman Anthony Daley was on a path to be signed by the Lions as well, but an injury has put that on hold. Daley is busy back in Winnipeg rehabbing and still has an opportunity if the Lions determine he is completely healthy.
