JC Boice takes over in Westshore

The Westshore Rebels football club are excited to announce the appointment of JC Boice as Head Coach.  The remaining coaches will be announced in the near future.

JC Boice was born into a football family and has played and coached football for nearly 20 years. Coach Boice recently relocated to Victoria, BC but still works full time for the USA based National Football Academies (NFA).  Widely considered the premier athlete Development Company in the US, NFA and Coach Boice partner with some of the top high school and college programs in the US providing athlete development and consulting.  Coach Boice is a Senior Level, C4 Certified Coach and thrives on developing QB’s.  With a complimentary background in engineering, Coach Boice is one of NFA’s premier throwing mechanic instructors where he is particularly effective in advanced bio-mechanical throwing-motion video analysis of quarterbacks. Traveling around the US (and now Canada), Coach Boice is well known for helping QBs improve all aspects of their game. Coach Boice is also a top rated Presenter for the Glazier Coaching Clinics (the largest football coaching clinic tour in the US with over 34,000 coaches as active members) where he speaks on Passing Game and Quarterback development.

Team President Elise Pastro on signing JC as Head Coach to the Rebels organization, “The Westshore Rebels are ecstatic about our hiring of JC and Assistant Head Coach Sheldon Halliman.  JC and Sheldon will bring a whole new level of competiveness to the Rebels!  JC is a high-level, full time coach that works regularly with some of the top athletes and coaches in the US.   He works with players and staffs from the SEC, PAC 12, ACC, Big10 and Big 12. Rebels players are going to be exposed to a whole new level of modern football.”

JC Boice on joining the Rebels, “I am extremely excited about joining the Rebels program.  For me this was the right team, at the right place, at the right time.  Victoria is an amazing place. It is the prettiest spot in Canada with a climate for year-around training and recreation. The West Shore is a great Community.  And they are building excellent facilities for their Rebel Football Team. The Rebels have a new stadium with Turf and a Jumbo-tron with more improvements scheduled.  As a coach I could not ask for more.  We have all the pieces to build something special here.

As a program we will be built with a strong family atmosphere.  A program that supports players and provides them resources for personal growth; it is about a commitment to developing player by developing the young man.  Just like we do at NFA where we prepare young athletes for NCAA and NFL opportunities, the Rebels are going to prepare Canadian athletes for the same next level opportunities.  I know very well how the model works in the US and we will replicate it here with the Rebels.  Canadian athletes that want to learn how US players prepare, train and compete will find that here with the Rebels.

We are going to invest in young men and provide them the resources to compete and achieve.  We provide athletes nutrition and diet consulting, year around speed and strength training, position specific skill development, academic support and complete mental preparation to insure their next level success.  And most of all we are going to compete and have a lot fun.”
