Larry Reda is in the Canadian Football Hall

Coming off the heels of an exciting year of festivities and marquee events in 2014, The Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum (CFHOF) has officially announced the Induction Class of 2014 at a celebration event during the 102 Grey Cup Festival in Vancouver.

A name known in the CJFL was inducted, Larry Reda is known as the man who is behind the Western Canada All-Star football camp which runs annually at Simon Fraser University. As a coach, Larry participated in every level of amateur football. As an administrator, Larry held the following positions: Director, and President of the BC Junior Football League. Among the highlights in his career, Larry is a lifetime member of the CJFL, a trustee of the selection committee for the BC Sports Hall of Fame, the recipient of the lifetime achievement award which are presented by the BC Lions, was a charter member of the BC Football Hall of Fame, awarded the Commissioner’s Award for outstanding service to football in Canada in 2011.

The players and builders inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame are Leroy Blugh, Eddie Davis, Dave Dickenson, and Gene Makowsky in the player category. In the Builder category, Bob O’Billovich,Larry Reda and Bob Wetenhall.

“I would like to thank the Selection Committee for their commitment and dedication, to select a truly Canadian Football class. This is the fourth Class selected under the new terms of reference in which we recognized all levels of Football in Canada. We are very pleased to see significant representation in the 2014 class” remarked Mark DeNobile, Executive Director of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum.
