The CJFL will be well represented this weekend in the Hardy Cup when the University of Calgary host the University of Manitoba in a rematch of last year’s game.

Combining both the Dinos and Bisons rosters there are 44 players with CJFL experience in this game.  The Bisons have 24 BCFC graduates and 11 PFC grads, while the Dinos have seven former PFC players and a pair of BCFC graduates.

If you’re scoring at home, here’s the breakdown:

The Winnipeg Rifles have the most graduates in the Hardy Cup with 11 players, 10 of which now play for the Bisons.   The Vancouver Island Raiders have eight players in this championship, also all playing for the Bisons.

The Calgary Colts have the best representation on the Dinos, with four former players.  Only two graduates from the BCFC now play for the Dinos, including the 2012 BCFC Defensive Player of the Year, Adam Konar (pictured) of the Langley Rams, who also played in the 2012 Canadian Bowl.

In all the Rams have six former players in the Hardy Cup, five of them play for the Bisons.  The Westshore Rebels also have five grads playing for the Bisons, while the Sun have three players.

Both the Regina Thunder and Kamloops Broncos have two players suiting up for the Bisons.  The Edmonton Wildcats will watch former defensive back Adam Laurensse play for the Dinos.  Laurensse also played for the Raiders in 2011.

The Valley Huskers have one grad playing on both the Dinos and Bisons.  Offensive lineman Tanner Borowicz of the Dinos and offensive lineman Reid McMorris of the Bisons.

With this many CJFL graduates playing in the Hardy Cup, fans may think it’s a junior football All-Star game of sorts.

The Hardy Cup kicks off in Calgary on Saturday (November 15) at 3:00pm local time.
