PFC Major Award Winners And All-Stars

The very best of the best of 2014

The Prairie Football Conference is pleased to announce their Major Award winners and All Stars for the 2014 regular season.

The Saskatoon Hilltops lead the 12 Major Award categories winning five of them.  They also have nine players named to the All-Star team, most in the PFC.

The Winnipeg Rifles have the second most All-Stars with seven.

There are 28 All-Stars that have been named and seven players named to the PFC Rookie Team.

Coach of the Year – Tom Sargent – Saskatoon Hilltops

Outstanding Offensive Lineman – Terry Thesen – Saskatoon Hilltops

Outstanding Offensive Back – Wayndel Lewis – Saskatoon Hilltops – 130 carries, 1,063 yards*, 8.2 yards per carry and 9 touchdowns on route to his PFC rushing title

Outstanding Receiver – Kurt Goodrich – Winnipeg Rifles (second consecutive year) – 50 catches*, 723 yards and 6 touchdowns*

Outstanding Defensive Lineman – Matt Kozun – Saskatoon Hilltops – 7 tackles, 5 assists, 15 sacks, 2 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery

Outstanding Defensive Linebacker – Jakub Jakoubek – Calgary Colts – 45 tackles*, 16 assists, 4 knockdowns, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions

Outstanding Defensive Back – Vince Greco – Calgary Colts – 17 tackles, 4 assists, 1 knockdown, 1 fumble recovery, 2 interceptions, 1 touchdown

Outstanding Special Teams – Jonathan Heidebrecht – Edmonton Huskies – 14-14 in field goals, longest of 49 yards, 100%

Outstanding Return Specialist - Jason Kelly – Winnipeg Rifles – 14 kick-off returns for 332 yards, averaging 23.7 yards, 19 punt returns for 194 yards, averaging 10.4 yards

Rookie of the Year – Offensive Lineman – Zack Williams - Winnipeg Rifles

Most Valuable Player – Receiver Preston Bews – Regina Thunder – 45 catches, 636 yards and 5 touchdowns

Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year – Jakub Jakoubek – Calgary Colts – 45 tackles*, 16 assists, 4 knockdowns, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions
