What a regular season it was for VI Raiders receiver Marshall Cook.  The Nanaimo native is the first CJFL receiver since 2010 to collect over 1,000 yards in a single season.

Cook’s 64 catches and 1,084 yards this season are both sixth all-time in CJFL history.

Former Raider Michael Schaper holds the CJFL record with 1,179 yards on 60 catches in 2010.  See the top six All-Time receivers below …

Cook had a huge game in the final weekend of the regular season against the Westshore Rebels to put him over the thousand yard plateau.  He caught seven balls for 258 yards and three touchdowns.  His yardage against the Rebels set a new team record for most receiving yards in a single game.  Pretty impressive with the long list of great Raider receivers of the past; Schaper, Whitman Tomusiak and Andrew Smith.

Overall Cook, hauled in nine touchdown passes and averaged 16.9 yards a catch.

His Raiders (5-5) will start the 2014 playoffs on Sunday October 19 when they head to the Okanagan to face the Sun in an afternoon tilt.  Cook has 21 receptions against the Sun this season for 261 yards and a touchdown.

Most of his yardage came in Week 8 when he gathered 131 yards on 10 catches.

The winner moves onto the Cullen Cup game the following weekend.
