A celebration of minor football across the CJFL

The Canadian Junior Football League is proud to announce “CJFL Minor Football Week.” (#cjflminor)

All 12 teams across the Prairies and BC Conferences will welcome minor football players of all ages to one of their home games between Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 28, 2014.

To celebrate CJFL Minor Football Week, individual teams will welcome minor football players at their games in various ways including providing halftime entertainment, running onto the field during the player introductions, and giving minor players the opportunity to become an “Honourary Captain.”

"CJFL teams are an integral part of the communities that they represent,” said CJFL Commissioner Jim Pankovich.  "Minor football, along with the Canadian Junior Football organizations, is important to the development of our next generation athletes and community leaders.  The CJFL is pleased to showcase minor football in our communities during the CJFL Minor Football Week.”

Thousands of kids play minor football across the country each year and the CJFL would like to recognize them along with the countless volunteer hours from coaches, game staff and parents.

Many of the young athletes that are showcased during the CJFL Minor Football Week will ultimately play for a CJFL community based organization.
