The Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters (ACWS) has recruited the Edmonton Eskimos & Calgary Stampeders to take a stand against violence towards women and girls in, “Leading Change: The Alberta CFL Project.” Starting Sept. 15, top CFL players from both teams are heading to schools and sports clubs across the province to facilitate conversations about this issue; equipping young men with the skills and confidence to call out their peers on toxic behaviours and lead the change in ending the culture of violence & abuse towards women.
The Edmonton Huskies Football Club are proud to be hosting the event on Monday, September 15. As an introduction to the project, trained Eskimos players will guide members of the Huskie football team through training exercises at the top of the event. The activities serve as a preview of the in-depth training the CFL players will be leading at full presentations in schools and clubs for The Alberta CFL Project.
The Huskies are committed to being leaders in the community on and off the field and are proud to be hosting the kickoff to this event.
