The Rams crush the Broncos in the lone Labour Day game

The lone game in the Conference over the Labour Day long weekend saw the Langley Rams dismantled the Kamloops Broncos 70-24.

The Rams tallied 482 yards of total offense, but also incurred 24 penalties for 185 yards.

The run game was dominating behind the Rams massive offensive line.  Mario Narte rushed 13 times for 156 yards and two touchdowns while Ryan MacDonald carried the rock 12 times for 121 yards and a score.  In total the Rams collected 313 yards on the ground.

Through the air quarterback Dylan Tucker completed nine of 12 for 126 yards and three touchdowns. Kyle Pich caught two of those majors and 77 yards. Malcolm Williams caught the other touchdown pass and three in the game.  His major was the 26th of his junior career, moving him into fifth on the BCFC All-Time touchdown receiving record list.  The leader is Ryan Schieman of the Okanagan Sun who caught 32 from 1998-2002.

The return game for the Rams continues to be scary.  Daniel English returned a punt 86 yards for a touchdown on Sunday.  John Beckerleg only saw one kick-off in his direction returning it 19 yards.

Defensively the Rams were as solid as they could be.  They collected five sacks and forced three turnovers.  Clovis Lumeka intercepted a pass and returned it 77 yards for a major and collected four solo tackles.  Beckerleg made his CJFL leading fourth interception and Ethan Schulz recovered a fumble.  Schulz, Alex Agnoletto and Brock Gowanlock each had sacks.  Dylan Roper recorded a sack and share one with Agnoletto giving him a Conference high of seven.

The Rams (4-1) will travel to play the Okanagan Sun (4-1) in a slugfest for top spot on Saturday at 7:00pm in the BCFC Game of the Week.

The Kamloops Broncos lose their second straight and first on the road this season.  Their run game struggled collecting just 84 yards.  Jacob Palmarin rushed eight times for a team high 37 yards and Sheldon Brown carried four times, one of which was for a touchdown.
