Eight Former Players Drafted

Eight former CJFL players were selected in the recent CFL Draft.  Four players from the BCFC and four players from the OFC.

The highest pick was former Okanagan Sun linebacker Max Caron (Concordia) who was selected 16th overall by the Calgary Stampeders.

Then former Langley Ram and defensive lineman Jas Dhillon (UBC) was selected 21st overall by the Toronto Argonauts.  

The first former OFC player selected was offensive lineman Joe Circelli (Western) who played for the London Beefeaters and was chosen the third round by the Stampeders

Former Vancouver Island Raider receiver Andrew Smith (pictured) (Manitoba) was next, selected 35th overall in the fourth round by the Montreal Alouettes.  In his final year with the Raiders (2011), Smith caught a Conference high 42 passes for 799 yards and 13 touchdowns (a conference high).

Two former CJFL kickers were selected in the fifth round.  First, former Ottawa SoonerTyler Crapigna (McMaster) was taken by the Stampeders, while former Rams kicker Nick Boyd (Manitoba) chosen by the Alouettes.

In the sixth round, another kicker was chosen, Zackary Medeiros (Montreal) who kicked for the Beefeaters was selected by the Edmonton Eskimos.

Finally in the seventh round former Hamilton Hurricane and defensive player of the year, linebacker Aram Eisho (McMaster) was selected by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The 2014 CJFL season with a new crop of Draft hopefuls kicks-off in BC on July 26th will a full slate of game followed by the PFC schedule beginning in August.
