The Sault Ste. Marie Cougars are in the postseason in their inaugural campaign after four wins in the regular season. They are the four seed and travel to Windsor to meet the St. Clair Saints on Saturday in an Ontario Conference semifinal.
All season they have relied on their running attack and Sam Mustapha. He won the Conference rushing title with 854 yards on 76 carries, averaging 11.2 yards with each carry and scored eight touchdowns.
Oddly enough, the Conference All-Star who is from Windsor, leads his Cougars to his hometown for the team’s first ever playoff game.
He visits with Ryan Watters to discuss the season, why he landed in Sault Ste. Marie and how this mixed bag of players gelled and became a playoff bound team.
