A pair of lopsided shutouts and a massive road win highlights Week 11 in the BC Conference.  Following the weekend, the Conference playoff matchups are set.

VI Raiders 27
Valley Huskers 13

The Raiders captured the final playoff spot in the BC Conference with a huge road win in Chilliwack on Saturday night as their defence pitched a second half shutout.

It was an incredible performance by the “D” holding the Huskers to 87 yards through the air and 177 in total and tallied 10 quarterback sacks.  Tani Wisdom was a man on a mission compiling four of those sacks and Stirling Henry collected 3.5.  They forced three turnovers, none bigger than a 78-yard pick six in the second quarter by Kaya Saunders which was the play of the game and momentum changer.

On the offensive side Zach Golab threw for 128 yards and found Ruben Bonsu and Blaze McCarty for touchdown passes.
With the loss the Huskers are eliminated from the playoffs not being able to move the ball in the second half.  Their lone touchdown came in the second quarter when Jawad Harb got into the end zone on a short run.

Their defence played well and gave them a chance to win, forcing six turnovers including three interceptions, but the offence couldn’t take advantage.   Kicker Carson Turner booted two first half field goals to help in the scoring.

Next weekend the Raiders (4-4-1) host the Langley Rams (2-6-1) in a game that means nothing in the standings.  The Raiders are the fourth seed and will visit the Okanagan Sun in a BC Conference semi-final in a couple of weeks.  The Huskers (3-5-1) will try and end the season on a high note when they host the playoff bound Prince George Kodiaks (5-3-1).

Westshore Rebels 62
Langley Rams 0

The Rebels clinched a home playoff date with a shutout win over the visiting Rams in their final game of the regular season.

Offensively they recorded an eye-popping 734 yards with Gavin Session throwing for six touchdowns and 426 yards on 25 completions.  Receiver Zion Brown hauled in five touchdowns, tying a CJFL record in the process on 14 receptions.  He finishes the regular season with 18 touchdown receptions, tying the record for most touchdown receptions in a single season.  He ties former Rebel Cairo Berry who set the CJFL record in 2023.

Tristan Remus-Arevalo and Tyrell Hofland also caught touchdown passes, both scoring from 60-yards out.

Defensively the Rebels held the Rams to 116 offensive yards and forced three turnovers.

With the victory the Rebels (7-3) finish their regular season schedule and will now prepare to host the Prince George Kodiaks in a BC Conference semi-final in two weeks.  The Rams (2-6-1) will end their season on the island when they visit the VI Raiders (4-4-1) next week.

Prince George Kodiaks 74
Kamloops Broncos 0

The Kodiaks exploded for their best offensive output in franchise history, scoring 74 points while combining for 491 total offensive yards.

Quarterback Sawyer Theissen was brilliant completing 19 passes for318 yards and three touchdowns while running for another.  He connected with Matthew Sturgess twice and Carson Briere once through the air.  Their passing game was complemented nicely with a running attack that produced four touchdowns on the ground from Kellen Lister, Jacob Wong, Simon Olaifa and Theissen.

Their defence forced nine turnovers, five were interceptions.  Both Logan Johnson and Lucas Burgoyne returned their interceptions to the house for a pick-six.

Next week the Kodiaks (5-3-1) visit the Valley Huskers (3-5-1) in their final tune up before their first appearance in the Canadian Bowl playoffs and the Broncos (0-9) host the Okanagan Sun (9-0) in their final game of 2025.
