The Westshore Rebels secondary is led by CJFL All-Canadian Gio Linuzzi, a talented and versatile defensive back that can shutdown the opposition’s best receivers.

Last season he was named a BC Conference All-Star for the second straight year after three interceptions, 20 tackles, seven assists and a knockdown.  He also averaged 11.7 yards on 17 punt returns and booted 13 punts, averaging 33.5 net yards.

During the Rebels playoff run in 2024 he barely came off the field spending time on the offensive side as a running back and pulling kicking duties for both punting and on kick off and field goals. 

Prior the 2024 Cullen Cup championship game, Linuzzi stopped to talk with the CJFL’s Ryan Watters about getting into the sport, some of his other interests, and a big vacation as he goes Under the Helmet.
