The VI Raiders have signed seven Letters of Intent

The VI Raiders have been active since January 1st taking full advantage of the CJFL’s Letter of Intent (LOI) program.  Each CJFL team is allocated 10 LOIs to get an early jump filling out their 2025 roster prior to the official National Signing Day on June 1st.

To date, the Raiders have signed seven of their 10 LOIs finding players close to home and across the globe as they are looking to get back to the post season this year.

A pair of signees with USports experience are looking for more of a permanent home on Vancouver Island.  Running back Tal Ibrahim (pictured) spent last year at Waterloo University playing in seven games but didn’t see the rock consistently.  He rushed 24 times for 162 yards and scored a touchdown.  Check out his highlight video below.

Receiver Alex Walters spent limited time at Wilfred Laurier University but did gain valuable experience that he will bring with him to the Raiders.  He will no doubt be an important part of the passing game as an excellent route runner.

They have added to their offensive line looking to Germany for some big bodies.  Ole Krebs was the Raiders first LOI and will give his quarterback time in the pocket just by his sheer size at 6’6 and 282 pounds.  Joining him from Frankfurt Galaxy in Germany is fellow offensive lineman Mateo Josipovic who can double as a long snapper at 6’1 and 260 pounds.

Over on the defensive side the Raiders have looked to another European country to sign defensive lineman Collins Abaya from the United Kingdom.   He is a speedy lineman at 6’4, 250 pounds who played last year with the South London Renegades of the NFL Academy in the UK.

In the Raiders secondary they have added an American from Colorado in Israel Waitman who graduated from Valor Christian high school in Highlands Ranch.  He had 38 solo tackles in his senior year of high school last year and added 40 assisted stops, blocked a kick and led his school with five interceptions.

Linebacker Keenan Struthers has also signed a Raiders LOI hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan.  He graduated from Riffel high school and gained valuable experience at the Football Canada Cup for Team Sask making five tackles and seven assisted stops during the tournament.
