Another week, and another Hilltop wins this weekly award. For the second time this season running back Corbin Ebben is named the top offensive player of the Week after carrying the ball 17 times on Sunday for 132 yards and scored a touchdown.  For good measure, coming out of the backfield he made one reception for 15 yards.

BC Conference

The Rams offence used the ground attack to control the tempo of the game recording an impressive road win.  Running back Bruce Jones rushed 22 times for 182 yards and scored touchdown.  In all, the Rams tallied 245 yards on the ground, 182 of which came from Jones.

Ontario Conference
QB Maurice Sodja – St. Clair Saints

Against a formidable defence, Sodja passed for two touchdowns as he completed 12 of 17 passes for 202 yards including a 49-yard touchdown strike.  He also did damage on the ground as he carried the ball 14 times for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensive Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
DB Cody Anglo – Calgary Colts

In a very important win over the Edmonton Huskies on the weekend, defensive back Cody Anglo of the Colts slowed the Huskies passing attack almost singled handily.  He finished with seven solo tackles, one interception, had two knockdowns and four assisted tackles in their victory.

BC Conference
DB Kenley Williams – Okanagan Sun

Defensive back Kenley Williams was a major ballhawk on Saturday in Prince George and intercepted three passes returning a total of 43 yards.  The interceptions would turn the tide each time leading to another drive for the Sun offence.

Ontario Conference
DB Gaddy Kazadi – St. Clair Saints

In a statement game between OFC heavyweights, Gaddy Kazadi repeatedly delivered the proverbial knockout blow.  The Saints’ defensive back picked off two passes, knocked down another one and had nine tackles for a very impressive 24 defensive points as the Saints remained undefeated on the season.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
LB Devin Baumann – Regina Thunder

What a game for Devin Baumann as the Thunder got back into the win column.  He blocked two punts, recovering one of them for a touchdown and assisted on a pair of special teams tackles.

BC Conference
KR Kaleb Senz – Kamloops Broncos

For the second time this season Kaleb Senz was recognized as the Special Teams Player of the Week in the BC Conference.  He played an important role for the Broncos on their home field returning eight kicks, averaging 22.6 yards and returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown.

Dangerous every time he fields a kick, Nick Szigeti delivered on Saturday returning three punts for 79 yards while bringing the home town crowd to their feet in electrifying fashion as he returned a first quarter punt 67 yards for a Beefeaters’ touchdown setting the tone for a dominating win.
