Three lopsided scored in the BC Conference this past weekend with the Sun, Rebels and Rams asserting their dominance.

Okanagan Sun 70
Prince George Kodiaks 0

It was quite an offensive display on Saturday night at the Apple Bowl with the Sun racking up 776 total offensive yards.

The Kodiaks couldn’t stop the run attack with the Sun gathering 485 yards and scored five touchdowns.  CJFL leading rusher Elelyon Noa rushed 14 times for 216 yards and scored a pair of majors highlighted by a 91-yard TD run filled with jukes and stiff arms.  He also caught five passes and scored on a 33-yard screen play.

Rookie quarterback Marek Filipek threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns finding Noa, along with Jordayne Falconer and Ben Chomolok, both scoring their first CJFL touchdown.

The Sun defence was also dominate holding the Kodiaks to six first downs and 89 yards offensively.

Next week the Sun (5-0) will enjoy a bye week and the Kodiaks (1-4) will host the Kamloops Broncos (0-4).

Westshore Rebels 42
Valley Huskers 24

The Rebels scored 30 points in the second half, held the Huskers to just 15 and scored a very gritty road win.

Defensively the Rebels held the Huskers offensive attack in check forcing six turnovers and even blocked a kick and scored a touchdown when Denis Moses recovered a fumble.   They also had four sacks, stopping Huskers’ drives.

Offensively they scored four touchdowns on the ground with Ryan Vincent leading they way with three majors and Kia Nickle had the other.  For the first time this season the Rebels did not throw a touchdown pass, however quarterback Ethan Pickard did complete 14 passes for 161 yards.

The Huskers touchdowns came courtesy of Luc Rodrigues throwing a pair of passes to Dhag Moa.  Kicker Gabriel Yaipen was a critical piece on the scoresheet knocking through three field goals, hitting from 22, 32 and 35 yards out.

Next weekend the Rebels (3-1) welcome the VI Raiders (1-3) and the Huskers (2-2) visit the Langley Rams (3-1).

Langley Rams 38
Kamloops Broncos 6

The Rams offence had a massive game accounting for 607 yards of total offence. Quarterback Palaina Hooper threw for 316 yards and found Terrel Jones for a touchdown.

On the ground Reggie Elie, Bruce Jones and Jayden Sak each scored touchdowns as the Rams tallied 289 yards.

One of the highlights of the game came from the defensive side when Dean Meurrens intercepted a pass and returned it 70 yards to pay dirt.

The Broncos found it difficult to move the ball on the ground against the Rams front seven so relied on their passing attack.  Brayden Barcsik threw for 134 yards and the lone Broncos score when he found Kaleb Senz for a touchdown. Senz was the favourite target of the three quarterbacks that were used and gained 128 yards on nine receptions.

Next weekend the Rams (3-1) will host the Valley Huskers (2-2) and the Broncos (0-4) visit the Prince George Kodiaks (1-4).
