The VI Raiders have high expectations this season as they try and turn the corner and get back to the CJFL Canadian Bowl playoffs.

Not only do the Raiders have playoff aspirations, but receiver Paul Romanoff is focussed on getting this team back into contention in the BC Conference.  He enters his fourth season on the island with a personal goal of cracking the All-Canadian list.

A year ago, he finished with 21 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns.

Speaking of touchdowns, the first of his CJFL career is a very memorable moment, scoring it in his rookie season at Valley.  The major came within the final minute before halftime to give the Raiders a lead.  The quarterback that threw him the ball, Jake Laberge is now the offensive coordinator, so he is aware of how dynamic of a player Romanoff is.

His most memorable CJFL game was last season, again on the road, but this time at Okanagan at the storied Apple Bowl.  He finished the game with three touchdowns on nine catches and he gathered 110 yards through the air.

The Raiders will open the season on July 20th on the road in Prince George when they take on the Kodiaks.

Paul Romanoff is a CJFL Player to Watch in 2024.
